Homely hotel, I loved its peaceful and brilliant location.

Everything was good, so were lovely views over the surrounding hills. Location: the hotel was just off train station, the garden and Marple. We had lunch in Town Street Fryer, located nearby.

Plenty of food for the English breakfast.

Fairly friendly and outstandingly accommodating staff and quick to respond. En suite rooms, pleasant view across valley.

Recommend for a city break

Fine view, marvellous staff, the accommodation includes a tv and electric kettle for your comfort, and the convenient trains from the nearby station make it easy to explore the city.

Charming place with a cozy vibe! The owners were super accommodating, even decked out the Garden Room for us since we booked late. The full English breakfast was delicious, and the gardens are lovely for wandering around. A minor issue, shared bathrooms can get busy during peak times. But it didn't ruin our stay at all!

great location but modest amenities

The location by the canal is picturesque and perfect for exploring the Peak District. I appreciated having a separate entrance to the lovely garden room.

Breakfast included plenty of delicious options, including home-made bread, and the hosts were friendly and cute. It would have been great to have a bit more variety in the breakfast menu and perhaps some updates to the furniture in the rooms.

Our triple room offered only two towels. Dining areas are packed with various ornaments, giving a cluttered feel, and many tables seemed better suited for larger groups. Breakfast orders were occasionally mixed up due to a lack of order-taking tools, and the room we used was on the chilly side. Plus, hauling bags up two flights of steep stairs wasn't exactly a highlight of our stay.

I stayed in a spacious, clean double room with a private bathroom. Super comfy bed, and it had all the essentials like tea/coffee facilities and a TV. The furniture fit the vibe of the place nicely. Free parking was a plus! Plus, the views from the room were really nice, and it was close to a canal for a stroll. Had a great stay!

Noise can creep in at night, especially with late-night occupants. The 'bathroom' situation resembles a converted cupboard, feeling more cramped than a typical setup.
